TAKE THE CHALLENGE OF ENCOURAGING 3 PEOPLE EACH WEEK WITH AN ACT OF KINDNESS OR A WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT.

WHAT IS PAINT IT BLUE?
We believe we are called to be kind and encouraging. So we challenged those in our church to bless, encourage, and show kindness to 3 people each week. We encourage you to join the movement and “Paint somebody’s life blue” with a blessing.

Here is How It Works:
1. Daily accept the challenge to bless three people each week with a word of encouragement,  or an act of kindness.

2. Start inside your circle of relationships and work out.  Bless one person you know closely, one you know casually, and one you have never met.

3. Make sure there are no strings attached.  Simply be nice, kind, and encouraging for the sake of being nice, kind, and encouraging.

4. Pass it on. When you have blessed someone give them a Paint-It-Blue.org card.  This helps raise awareness, encourage participation, and creates a momentum of kindness.
HOW YOU CAN PAINT IT BLUE

1. Find your shade of blue… The color blue has numerous shades. Each uniquely beautiful. Everyone of us have a unique personality, and gifts that make us who we are. Find a way to encourage people that fits your style or shade.

2. Step outside your comfort zone… Even when we are in our sweet spot sometimes it can be hard to take that first step.  Do it.  It will make someone’s day, and yours.

3. Don’t overcomplicate it… It doesn’t have to be a super wow thing, just authentic and real. It could be paying for someone’s coffee or meal.  It could be watching your neighbors children, or mowing a lawn.  How about leaving a 50% tip for a server and telling the manager what a great job they did. Write someone an encouraging note.  Tell a cashier that they did a great job. Find your shade and paint it blue.

4. Do it… Procrastination keeps us from some of the best things in life. Some people even put reminders on their phones to help them remember to “Paint It Blue”.  In the midst of the busyness of life, a simple reminder on your phone can refocus you to what really matters.

Most people want to make someone’s day with an act of kindness or a word of encouragement but sometimes we have a hard time getting started.  Here are some practical steps to get you started.
